i read this on a message board today and felt inclined to share it. thanks Z.
Once, in the deep jungle, there was a snake that all of a sudden started to follow a glowworm and try to eat it.
The glowworm quickly escaped from the horrible beast, but the snake wouldn't stop following it around. It fled for a day, two, three - and finally, exhausted - it stopped and faced the snake.
"May I ask you three questions?!"
The snake was bewildered, but said
"Yes. I usually don't answer questions, but since I'm gonna eat you in a minute anyway, I guess I could make an exception."
"Am I part of your food chain?"
"Nope." said the snake.
"Have I hurt you in any way?"
"Nope!" said the snake, once more.
"So... Why are you trying to kill me?!"
"Because..." said the snake "I cannot stand to see you glow!"
Many of us have been in a situation where we've asked ourselves why bad things happen to us. If we haven't done anything wrong, or hurt anyone.
The answer is very simple: Because there is someone who cannot stand to see you glow!
When that happens, don't put out your light! Just keep being who you are, keep giving the best you've got, don't let anyone put you down and keep being brilliant!
They can't attack you, because your light still shines and you will remain the person you truly are.
Always stay real, even if your light disturbs the predators.
