All I can say is, "wow!" The convention was AMAZING! It was the first time that I'd ever attended one and I was blown away by everything.
To start the weekend off (Thursday) I met fellow chefs Kathie (who lives in Albany) and Brenda as well as our booth
manager, Eric (who is also Tasha's brother...Tasha owns Rusty Pickle). They are all WONDERFUL and Eric is loads of fun. He LOVES to pose for pictures and was doing so the entire weekend. That's him and Kathie, I think that's the Captain Morgan pose, isn't it?
So Thursday we set the booth up and did as much preparation as we could. The next day we were all there bright and early, about 7 ish, I was finishing up some last minute prep work for my classes and the other three were working on the booth (which looked fabulous, by the way!). My first class started at 8:30 and I was nervous for about the first 15 minutes, but once I got going with it the nerves went away and I just had fun. It felt great being up in front and teaching again. There were several customers from Scrapbook Fever! in my first class and it was really nice to see them all again. I also got to meet Victoria, whom I met on scrapbook.com. She drove down from Vancouver and took one of my classes, thank you Victoria! Once I finished up my classes at noon I grabbed a quick bite to eat and was working in the booth the rest of the day. It was pure madness but so much fun!
My schedule was the same on Saturday, classes in the morning and booth work in the afternoon. The vendor faire closed at 5 pm and by that time I think we were all exhausted but still in very good spirits. We spent the next 5 hours or so tearing down the booth and were introduced to a couple of Eric's characters: Rico Suave, Earl...and he had a blast giving Kathie (Nurse Betty), Brenda (Daisy D) and myself (Gina) our character names and hoping that we'd play along. It was hilarious.
All in all, I had a great time! I couldn't have been happier than I was representing and teaching for Rusty Pickle. I can hardly wait for the next one.
And to my challenge gals: I was so busy this last month that I didn't have time to formulate anything. So this is what I'm going to do. Why don't you challenge me? Leave a comment with a challenge, something that you would like to see me do and at the end of the week I'll pick my favorite one and complete it. And if you see a great challenge idea in the comments and want to play along, feel free! It'll be fun. As for the prize, I'll just randomly draw a name from anyone that either leaves a challenge comment or anyone that participates and creates a layout.
The same "rules" apply as every other month. Your project must be mostly Rusty Pickle products and I must have it in my inbox by Monday the 17th.
Have a great week!

It was so good to meet you, Alycia! Hope we get to work another show together!

Aloha Alycia,
So glad that your classes went well! Sounds like a lot of fun!! The booth looks great! Maybe you'll teach in Seattle ;)!
As for a challenge, here's my idea: since it's almost spring and traditionally a time for spring cleaning and renewal. How about using something on your LO that would be going out in the trash or recycle. This could include product packaging or....???? also use some kind of acrylic paint on your project...
Take care and have a wonderful week!
