This entire week I've been trying to post.
Monday morning: I had written a short essay post (literally, like 4-5 pages) and when I was finished I chose to use the "spell check" feature. As it was doing it's thing I was clicking from one open browser page to the next (because I have ADD and usually have at least 5 open at any given time) and 10 mintues later I came back to "save" my post but, it was still spell checking. Hmm...does it really take that long to spell check? I had no idea since it was the first time I had used the feature. So, I carried on with all of my other "important scrapbooking business" as I tell my family and friends. Which really is just me checking on some of my favorite blogs and message boards. And a few minutes later I went back to check on my post--still spell checking. Now I knew that I was screwed. The damn thing was frozen and there was nothing I could do, my post was gone forever. Lesson learned--don't use the f*%#ing spell checker.
Tuesday morning: Terrance was chasing Cleo, the cat (which can usually entertain her for 15-30 minutes) and I snuck on the computer to try to post again. Well, not long after I had sat down Terrance had lost complete interest and was demanding my attention. I left the window open thinking I'd come back to it later in the afternoon. That never happened and when Joe got home that night he closed my window and deleted my post forever. Lesson learned--save all unfinished posts as drafts.
Wednesday: Actually I didn't try to post at all yesterday. First, I woke up and the wretched head cold that I had been plagued with all week had moved to my right ear. It wouldn't pop, the pressure and congestion was killing me but I had so much to do that day. After finishing the last essay I had to write for this term I drove down to the college and turned it in. I then stood line for at least 30 minutes to sell my books which always pisses me off. Not the long lines and crowded book store but, the fact that buying and selling textbooks is such a scam. At the beginning of the term I get to pay nearly $400 for 4 books and then sell them back for $123. Then I had to drive all the way across town to turn in my library books. For some reason the driving had intensified the pressure in my ear and I swear that my head was going to just explode. So, I came home fed Terrance and thankfully for me it was her nap time. Once she was down I took a handful of cold pills and flopped on the couch with a heating pad on my ear. My wonderful husband got home right before T got up from her nap and he took care of us for the rest of the day. He made dinner, cleaned up the house, did bath time, bed time and let me stay on the couch. I love him.
Today: I woke up feeling a thousand times better. My ear doesn't hurt, the cold is subsiding and it's a gorgeous day. =) Yay. T is sleeping and I finally am getting to write and actually post something.
So, to summarize my original post from Monday.
- I'm done with this term! Summer term starts on the 23rd so, until then I'll be scrappin!
- Memory Maker's Master, here I come. Since I've been scrapbooking, I've never entered a big competition like this and I've decided that this is the year. The deadline is July 31 so I've to get busy.
- I love Rusty Pickle. CHA is just around the corner and I've been hearing a bit of talk about their fabulous new products! I can't wait. =)
And then there's this. Recently, Terrance has been giving me this cute little scrunched-up-nose smile and I some how managed to capture it perfectly.
Alright, I'm not going to push my luck with this one. It's long enough.
I'm out.
What a week you've had! Glad you're feeling better! I remember those text book days... nothing changes LOL.
What a great picture! it's perfect. I remember when DS was tiny, he would squinch up his eyes in response to my smile. (My eyes got smaller when I smiled, so that was what he copied.) It was so cute! LOL> We would spend hours playing the squinching game. hee hee.
Good luck on MM, you're so talented, you have a great chance!!! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
Take care and have a super weekend!
aloha!
